Try out Mark's delicious Chocolate Tart - definately not for the diet conscious!
Chocolate Tart
For the filling
150g melted chocolate
100g melted unsalted butter
1 whole egg
2 egg yolks
30g sugar
Sweet pastry
75g icing sugar
75g castor sugar
150g butter (room temperature)
300g flour
1 egg
Method
1. Mix the melted chocolate and butter together in a bowl.
2. Whisk the sugar and all of the eggs together over a pan of hot water until they have trebled in volume and then add to the chocolate mix and set a side.
3. For the pastry, cream the butter and sugar in a mixer. Then add the flour. Once the flour is incorporated, then add the egg. Keep whisking until the egg is absorbed into the mixture. Cover with cling film and leave to rest in the fridge for one hour.
4. Brush a 10 inch loose-bottomed tart tin with melted butter and then roll the pastry out to about 5mm. Line the tin with the pastry ensuring it is lined equally. Place some grease proof paper on top of the pastry and then add baking beans. Cook at 130 C for 45 mins.
5.Once the base is cooked, bring it out of the oven remove the baking beans and then add the chocolate mix which needs to set in the fridge for a few hours.
Serve 8 people generously.
